Bedtime Yoga! Relaxing Yoga poses for better sleep

Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Do you guys have the same problems like me? Difficult to fall into sleep at night…. It’s always my headache at night. Sleep is very important for us. I know it’s time for me to go to bed, but I just can’t. I feel so tired and sleepy during the day, while during the night I’m just like an active owl.

I have tried counting the sheep (it just getting me bored but not sleepy), drink some tea to relax, listening to bedtime music…. Sadly, none of it works. Some of the tricks do make me sleep, but definitely not a good sleep. Until recently, I read an article from Popsugar.com about 9 Relaxing Stretches You Can Do in Bed. The results… Is a WOW!!! My mind and body is way more relax and I get to walk into my dreamland so easily. I get a full solid sleep every night.

I decided to share all the yoga poses with you guys! *Original article are from Popsugar.com

None of the yoga or stretch poses need you to do it on your yoga mat. Here are nine stretches you can do in your pajamas and your bed — either before you go to sleep or once your alarm goes off — or both! Do all nine if you have time, or just pick a few. Either way, you’ll feel more relaxed, whether you’re heading to the land of nod or waking with the sun.

  • Spinal Twist

spinal-twist-Lie on your back in the middle of your bed. Bend both knees into the chest, and then cross them over to the left side of your body. You can even let your knees hang slightly over the edge of the bed for a deeper stretch.

-Extend your arms in T position, and gaze to the right.

-Stay like this for 30 seconds or more, feeling your spine lengthen and twist. You may even hear some cracks.

-Use your abs to lift your knees back to center, and repeat on the other side

  • Knee to Chest Back Stretch

-Gently bend your left knee into your chest. Clasp your hands in front of your shin and gently pull down to increase the stretch. Release any tension in your shoulders and neck.

-Keep your right leg relaxed in a comfortable position.

-Hold for 30 seconds and then repeat with the right knee bent.

  • Reclining Hamstring Stretch

reclining-hamstring-stretch-Lie on your back. Raise your left leg as high as you can, keeping your pelvis flat on the ground. Hold your lower thigh and encourage the leg to move toward your head. Flex your bottom foot to stretch your calf too.

-Hold for 30 seconds, then switch sides.

  • Lying Side Quad Stretch

lying-side-quad-stretch-Lie on your left side. Bend your left elbow and prop your head up with your left hand.

-Bend your right knee and hold on to the top of your foot with your right hand. Pull your heel toward your bum. If you find it tough to balance, bend your bottom knee as well.

-Hold for 30 seconds, pressing your hips slightly forward to increase the stretch in the front of your thigh.

-Release the stretch, roll over onto your right side and stretch your left quad.

  • Half Happy Baby

half-happy-baby-Lie on your back with your legs extended.

-Gently bend your left knee and hold on to the sole of your foot with both hands. Gently press your knee toward the bed so it’s next to your torso and just below your shoulder. Your back and head should remain resting on the bed.

-Keep your right leg relaxed in a comfortable position.

-Hold for 30 seconds and then repeat with the right leg.

  • Happy Baby

happy-baby-Lie on your back, bend both knees and hold on to the outside edges of your feet.

-Gently use your arm muscles to pull your knees toward the floor beside your chest. Relax your shoulders and your head, staying here for 30 seconds.

  • Cobra

cobra-Roll over onto your belly and extend your arms out in front of you. If you’re tall, you can hang your feet over the end of the bed.

-Keeping your legs and pelvis grounded, slowly begin to walk your hands toward your chest. As your torso lifts off the bed, keep a slight bend in your elbows. Walk your hands in until you feel a nice stretch in your abs. Relax your shoulders away from your ears and lengthen your neck. If it feels OK, lower your head back between your shoulder blades, and you’ll feel a nice stretch in your chest and neck.

-Stay here for 30 seconds and then lower your torso back to the bed.

  • Butterfly

butterfly-Sit with both knees bent, soles of the feet touching.

-Fold forward as far as you want, resting the hands on your ankles or on the bed in front of your feet.

-Enjoy this stretch for 30 seconds.

  • Upside-Down Relaxation

fi110105fttim003-Sit facing a wall (or your headboard) with your butt about 6 inches away from it.

-Lie back and extend your legs up the wall.

-If this is too intense a stretch for your hamstrings, slide your butt farther away from the wall.

-If it’s not enough, scoot closer.

-Let your arms rest by your sides, palms facing up, and breathe gently, feeling the stretch in the backs of your legs.

Now, try the poses and get yourself a good sleep!

The previous review about the Gold & EGF Eye & Spot Patch are mainly to reduce the dark eye circles. While for this Black Pearl & Gold Hydrogel Eyepatch are mainly to reduce the eye bag and wrinkles. Of course, all the problems mentioned (dark eye circles, wrinkles and eye bag) are girls headache.

Now, lets us start the review and see how well the Black Pearl & Gold Hydrogel Eyepatch can be!!!

Petitfee – Black Pearl & Gold Hydrogel Eyepatch

You might be wondering why they choose to use black pearl and gold? This is because pearl having high level of amino acid and minerals helps circumstation, while gold ingredients purifies skin and helps keep the bright tone. What make this product a winner is the highly densed essence of nutrients. It contains green tea, wormwood, citron, cucumber, grapefruit seed and other various of plants is condensed in this essence provide moisture and nutrition deep into the skin which helps improve the skin around the eyes area. Mist type out of natural gel ingredients can be used for body care after melt it with warm water.

Review

This Black Pearl & Gold Hydrogel Eyepatch are recommended for people who want to reduce the wrinkles around eye area, concern with dark eye circle, want to have a moisture skin and increase skin vitality. Of course, we want all of it!

Again, I use this almost everyday especially for my night skin care routine. After toner, I’ll apply this eye patch and then follow by the others. Same like the Gold & EGF Eye & Spot Patch, it’s very cooling and soothing. I feel relaxed when putting this eye patch on.The eye patches is very hydrating and moisture with a lot of essence in it. Once opening, it’s recommended to use within two months. It contains 60 patches, for everyday-use in a month you can finish it. It’s recommended to use within two months because it contains high level of essence (you can feel it’s dripping out). If it’s store more than two months, you can feel the dryness of it.

However, this patches do give me a slight sting feeling like the Gold & EGF Eye & Spot Patch as well. Luckily, it’s doesn’t bring any irritation or sensitivity issues. I believe because the under eye area can be very tender and soft, so when the patches are cool it reacts that way.

For the scent, again it’s same like the Gold & EGF Eye & Spot Patch. It has a very strong floral scent(which some of you may not like it) but it’s not that strong until it can cause you to sneeze. It’s a hydrogel eye patches, so it’s a thick gel like texture. The shape for this is slightly bigger compare to the other one. So, it can cover a bigger area.

Will I repurchase? Yes, I will. Although the results is not so obvious but I find that it helps to relax my tired eyes. The price of it is very reasonable, so i think I’ll take the pay for it.

Wanna try the  Petitfee – Black Pearl & Gold Hydrogel Eyepatch, buy it at Hermo for RM29.00 or at Amazon for US$10.25.

Hope you enjoy reading my post.

Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog. Today I will be reviewing one of the most popular makeup setting spray from Urban Decay. It’s the Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray. My only one and only setting spray used to be MAKE UP FOR EVER Mist & Fix Setting Spray (click and read the review) until recently I have found the other one which is the Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray.

604214851108_allnighter

Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray

What it is:
A weightless setting spray that keeps makeup looking just-applied for up to 16 hours.

What it does:
Is makeup meltdown ruining your midnight mojo? Mist on this weightless spray to give your makeup serious staying power. Developed in an exclusive partnership with SKINDINÄVIA, this groundbreaking, clinically tested formula is suitable for all skin types and features patented Temperature Control Technology. It actually lowers the temperature of your makeup to keep foundation, eyeshadow, blush, and concealer in place—even in hot and humid or cold and windy conditions. The result? Smoother-looking skin and vibrant makeup that lasts all day (or night) without melting, cracking, fading, or settling into fine lines.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Phthalates

What else you need to know:
Unlike similar products on the market that feel sticky or tight on your skin, the sprayer delivers a microfine mist that goes on so light, you’ll hardly feel it—and once you’ve applied it, you won’t even know it’s there.

Research results:
In a 7-day clinical study of All Nighter:
– 78% of participants said All Nighter helped their makeup last for 16 hours
– Over 80% said their makeup not only looked better, it stayed on better (even in the T-zone) without settling into fine lines
– Whether they had combination, oily, or dry skin, 88% or more said All Nighter was the best product to help their makeup last

Suggested Usage:
-Shake well.
-Apply after makeup.
-Hold the bottle 8 to ten inches away and mist face two to four times, in an “X” and “T” formation.

Ingredients: Water, SD-Alcohol 39-C, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Isononyl Isononanoate Ethylhexyl Isononanoate, Sodium Cocamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate PVP, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Methyl Diisopropyl Propionamide, Dimethicone PEG-7 Phosphate, PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate, Gluconolactone, Sodium Benzoate, Glycereth-5 Lactate, Methyl Methacrylate Cross Polymer, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Fragrance

Review

img_4254

This makeup setting spray is very lightweight. You can really feel it’s fast absorbing properties. Of course, most important it holds the makeup all day long just as it stated. It doesn’t give me any oily or sticky feeling. I feel that my makeup can really last long and just sitting in place. I have tried using it on a busy day (whereby I have to walk around under the hot sun) with heavy makeup, and the results is my makeup stays well and not smudge at all  (I do have a little touch up). Overall results is satisfying!!! I like to use it for special occasion or when I know I’m gonna walk around with a heavy makeup. Otherwise, I will still use the MAKE UP FOR EVER Mist & Fix Setting Spray for daily use due to the pretty hefty price-tag of this setting spray. The makeup staying power by using this Urban Decay setting spray definitely can beat the Makeup For Ever. Some even say that it’s sweat and waterproof. It’s suitable for all skin types, but if your skin are very (I mean super duper dry) dry then you should try the Chill Cooling & Hydrating Makeup Setting Spray.

I’ll rate this products a 5 stars out of 5.

Hope you enjoy reading.

How To: Pick the Right Tool to Apply Foundation

Hello everyone, recently I have came across an article about  How To: Pick the Right Tool to Apply Foundation from Makeup.com. I find that the article is very interesting and informative. Thus, I decided to share with you girls.

*Main article has been edited and retained information are from Makeup.comhow-to-pick-the-right-foundation-tool-bopOne of the questions that will pop up every time when we apply foundation is, whether we should use our fingers, a brush, or a sponge to apply foundation. My answer? All three methods work, as long as you know how and when to use each technique. Here are some guidelines to get you started.

Brush

A foundation brush should be used when applying liquid foundation to the face. A brush will give you a flawless finish without wasting a lot of your product, and it also blends much more evenly than your fingers will. While you can apply liquid foundation with your fingers, you’ll end up spending more time blending, and usually the results won’t match up to a brush’s ability to smooth and perfect. Invest in a quality foundation brush and wash it regularly. This will increase the longevity of the brush and make the most of your money!

Sponge

The Beauty Blender Sponge is one of my favorite tools for blending foundation and concealer on the skin. This is a great tool to use after you have applied foundation to your face, but want to make sure all areas are buffed to perfection. It also has a tip point that makes blending around the nose and eyes extremely easy if your brush didn’t quite get to those areas. The sponges that you want to avoid using for application are the white triangular shaped ones. These actually absorb the foundation immediately, causing you to use more. Utilizing a sponge to help blend instead of applying the product will give you much better results.

Fingers

The best time to use your fingers is when applying light tinted moisturizers or BB creams. Since this texture is almost like a moisturizer, the finish is extremely natural, making it easy to achieve an even skin tone by hand. The most important thing to remember when using your fingers is to make sure they are clean! Wash your hands before every application to avoid spreading oil, dirt, and germs to your face.

How do you like to apply your foundation?

Let me know in the comments below!

Japan Horse Oil (Bahyu) Lip Balm

Hello everyone, hope you have a nice day. Today I’m gonna review to you the Japan Horse Oil (Bahyu) Lip Balm from my Japan Beauty Haul post.

In my Japan Beauty Haul post, I have already explain what  exactly horse oil products’ are. Over here, I’ll just add a few more information about the Horse Oil.

Info from previous post:

Horse oil (BAHYU) is oil obtained from horse fat just like other animal oil such as lard from pig fat or lanolin from sheep wool. It is 100% natural and additive free. For centuries in Japan BAHYU has been widely known as a home remedy for burns, dry skin, cuts, chapped skin and hemorrhoids. BAHYU has been used safely without a doctor’s prescription, as it can be used in food and there are no side effects. Traditional Chinese medicines also recommend using BAHYU to treat eczema and acne.

Are horses slaughtered only to obtain the oil? No. Horse oil is obtained from horses that are slaughtered for food. Traditionally Japanese people have a custom of eating horse meat. Fats from the horse meat are used to produce BAHYU. They DO NOT slaughter horses only to obtain the horse oil.

Do they use racing horses to obtain the oil? No. Racing horses are not used for BAHYU. Only horses that are raised for food are used for the oil. Horse meat is monitored by Public Health Department to meet safety standards and fats from the edible horse meat are used to obtain the oil.

*All product from horse oil are not classified as cruelty-free.

Benefits of Horse Oil
  • known for its healing properties and highly moisturizing capabilities
  • helps strengthen and regenerating the moisture barrier of the skin, preventing dry skin
  • composition of the fatty acids in horse oil are fairly similar to human oil (sebum) and therefore, it can penetrate more quickly into your skin
According to a Japanese article  “馬油による皮膚の保湿効果の検討” published in Nishinihon Journal of Dermatology, Vol. 66; No 6; pp. 621-624 (2004).
” The Moisturising effect on the skin of horse oil that resembles the fatty acid composition of human sebum and contains a large amount of linoleic acid was investigated. Horse oil applied to seven healthy females was shown to increase water and oil content in the horny layer. Examinations of the fatty acid compositions of the oil remaining on the surface of the skin two hours after the application revealed a clear decrease in linoleic acid content. The increase in water and oil content in the skin due to local application of horse oil was an important contribution to the structure of the skin to maintain its function as a barrier, mainly as a result of absorption of linoleic acid by the skin. These findings indicate that horse oil as a preparation for external use is suitable for maintaining the health and moisture of skin through per-cutaneous administration.”

Japan Horse Oil (Bahyu) Lip Balm

img_4179

img_4177

Since I can’t understand Japanese, so I can’t tell what’s written on the description (If you do understand please tell me too… thanks 🙂For simply understanding, it’s stated that the product is free of fragrances, parabens, mineral oil and dyes. Besides, it also stated that it’s made out of 99.9% of natural ingredients.

Review

The first things that I wanna mention is the smell. Although it’s made out of horse oil, but it doesn’t give any smell or scent of horse (oil). So, don’t be afraid to give it a try. It doesn’t show off any color, just like a normal lip balm. I have very sensitive and dry lip. Thank god that this product doesn’t cause me to have any irritation. It moisturized my dry and chapped  lip really well. By applying it a few times in a day, I can see a big difference for my chapped lip. The texture of the lip balm is very moisturizing but it’s not waxy. I doesn’t like any lip products that give me a waxy feeling. I can say that I like the texture of this lip balm. It doesn’t contains any SPF in it. But it’s okay for me, because I’ll always apply another layer of my lipstick after this lip balm. I always own a lip balm that without SPF for me to use at night. This lip balm works best at night or in a cold condition due to its high moisturizing properties. The packaging is very simple.

If you are travelling to Japan, I will recommend you to give the horse oil products a try. The price of it is also not that expensive.

Due to the communication problems, I’ll suggest you to show the pharmacist or sales person picture of the products that you want.  You can fully trust the products that recommend by the pharmacist in Japan. I have personally try a few medication products from them and it does really works and solved my problems.

Hope you enjoy reading my post.

Review

I have try using the real coconut oil to mask and nourish my hair before. So, using coconut oil hair products for me is alright. For oily hair types, you might be afraid of the word “oil”, but trust me this shampoo and conditioner is not that oily at all (the products also stated suitable for all hair types). It lathers really well, leaving the hair smooth, clean and fresh. With the conditioner, my hair has becoming softer and more easier to detangle. I can’t notice for any extra shines but it does nourish my damaged hair ends. Since the hair care range are stated with Vitamin E, I think this is an extra bonus for a healthier hair. One things I must mention is, upon opening both the shampoo and conditioner you will get the scent of the real coconut oil.

Will I repurchase? I will definitely buy this range of shampoo and conditioner if I’m on a budget or really in a rush for use. 😀 Of course, this range can’t beat the higher end hair care products, but there will be times that you just wanna save a little more. Then, this hair care range will be a good choice.

Hope you enjoy reading my post.

MUJI Balancing Light Toning Water

Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. As today topic mention it will be the review of MUJI Balancing Light Toning Water. The reasons why I bought this toner is because I wanna use it as a spray mist which contains a higher level of moisture compared to others.

Stop by and read more for a details review! 🙂

img_4166

General Description (from Muji.com)Skin care series made using natural water from Kamaishi in Iwate prefecture. Contains vitamin C and E derivative as the active ingredients, preventing blemishes and freckles due to sunlight. 8 organic plant extracts and organic aloe vera sap.

img_4168-1

Picture above shows the ingredients list and the instructions to use.

Review

Packaging: The packaging for Muji’s products is always simple and nice. This toner is in a plastic round bottle with demarkations for the amount of product by 50s (50, 100, 150, and 200mL). So, you can always monitor and know how much of products is being used. Besides, This toner is also sealed at the hole where the toner water will dispense before opening. Which give me a feeling that Muji’s products is really hygiene. The hole for the toner water to be dispense is small enough for you to get the exact amount that you need.

Formulation: The formula of this toner is very light and moisturizing. It doesn’t leave your skin with an oily or sticky feeling which I like it a lot. It contains turmeric root extract, so it give a light citrus kinda scent. Thus, it’s very refreshing. The best part is, It doesn’t cause any irritation or drying effect. Turmeric is commonly used for anti-inflammatory drugs. So, I believe this toner do have some calming effect for acne healing too.  Besides, sodium hyaluronate is also found in this toner. It is commonly used for anti-aging which helps retain moisture in the skin. Sodium hyaluronate has smaller particles versus the ever famous Hyaluronic acid, which helps it move deeper into the skin and hold in more water from there. It’s also a humectant, meaning it takes in moisture from the air around you, and is non-irritating.

The toner water is clear and light.

My way of using this fabulous toner is transfer it into a spray bottle and bring it along with me whenever I go. If you are my loyal reader, you probably has know that I love face mist so much. It gives you that extra hydration and also refreshing feeling. This toner is definitely worth to be a mist. It’s lightweight, hydrating and refreshing. The best thing of all is it’s only cost RM49.90. Where else can you get such a reasonable and good quality toner mist???!!!

Will I repurchase? Yes!!! I rate this product 5 out of 5.

Hope you enjoy reading my post.

To be honest, when I bought it home and try it on my lips, my first impression was not that good. It gives my lips a very sticky and waxy feeling and I doesn’t like it. So, this products has been leave on my makeup desk for awhile. Until recently, I used this to prime my laugh lines just because I doesn’t wanna waste it. And guess what???!!! I have fall in love with this. All the primer (Benefit, Make Up For Ever, Tarte,…) that I used can’t even prime my laugh lines well. After two hours of talking and laughing, it started to be cakey.

The formula of this multipurpose primer pencil is very moisturizing. It’s in crayon base. I use it around my nose (especially for areas where the spectacle nose pads gonna be) and my laugh lines. Now, my makeup can lasts for whole day. My makeup used to be cakey and messy around the nose because of the nose pads (yup, I’m a spectacle girl). My problem now has been solved by this primer pencil. It doesn’t have any specific scents (maybe is no at all). As for the correcting power, I doesn’t find it works the best.

Conclusion, I find that this primer works best for my laugh lines and around my nose areas. Sometimes I use it to primer my dry spots too due to its moisturizing ingredients.

Laugh lines and lipstick lines is mainly where I apply the primer.

Wanna try the Urban Decay Ultimate Ozone, buy it at Sephora.
